Visionary. Innovator. Iconoclast.

These words all have four syllables, and for twenty years, Arty Tan has harnessed words just like these while developing sharply insightful strategies and crafting award-winning advertising campaigns. Arty has forged breakthrough work for fledgling start-ups and Fortune 500s alike while helping clients chart a road map for influencing culture, driving revenue, and accelerating brand growth.

Most recently, Arty served as Chief Marketing Officer at Desert Door, a Texas-based distiller of Sotol, a spirit derived from a spiky desert succulent that grows wild in the West Texas desert. Desert Door Texas Sotol is currently distributed in 20 states across the country. Before his role at Desert Door, he was Director of Strategy at The Community, a cross-cultural, global creative agency headquartered in Miami. There, he managed a team of strategists working on national and international accounts, including Verizon, Saucony, Cleveland Clinic, Alzheimer’s Association, and Hornitos Tequila. Before joining The Community, he did contract work as a consultant for diverse clients such as Panda Restaurant Group, Vizio, Ford Motor Company, The Gap, and MSI Computers.

Previous to his role as strategist, Arty was building his resume at some of the world’s most esteemed creative agencies: Wieden + Kennedy, Chiat/Day, Fallon Worldwide, and Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, to name a few. His client list includes Kia Motors, The Lincoln Motor Company, Porsche, Toyota, Nissan, Nike, Sony, ESPN, Nikon, United Airlines, Energizer, Taco Bell, Ralston Purina, Jim Beam Brands, Lee Jeans, Verizon, Adidas, and Coca-Cola. Arty’s work has been featured in USA Today, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He has garnered national and international advertising awards from Communication Arts, the One Show, Cannes, The New York Art Directors Club, and The Clios.

Arty resides in Wimberley, Texas, with his dog Belle - a pitbull who drools uncontrollably despite her Disney princess namesake.
